Chapter Nine

After the visit to the doctors, Arnav was now going to take Khushi to his home. Arnav drove and as they pulled up to big iron gates, Khushi gulped. Khushi gaped at them as Arnav had the windows go down and typed in a code. The gates squeaked and opened and Arnav drove in.

Khushi looked at the trees that went along the path and then gaped at the beautiful house- no, mansion, up ahead. Arnav stopped in front of it and quickly went around to open the door for Khushi.

Khushi came out and just gaped at the place. "You live here?"

"Mm hmm."

"You must have a big family."

Arnav didn't reply and went to the car to take Khushi's bag out. He went back over to Khushi and said "follow me."

Khushi nodded and followed. They went towards the steps and Arnav held her hand as they went up the steps. When they came to the door, Arnav rang the bell. Soon enough, the doors were opened and revealed a man dressed in a suit.

"Xander, take this upstairs," Arnav said, handing him the bag.

"Yes Sir," as the guy left.

Khushi looked in amazement. Inside was just simply beautiful from what she could see.

"Come in," Arnav said.

He led her in and Khushi was just completely stunned by the house.

"Arnav, your home is stunning," Khushi said in amazement.

"Do you like it?"

Arnav and Khushi looked up to the voice and saw an elderly woman at the top of the stairs. She was wearing an all white sari. She came down the stairs and paused on the second to last step.

"This is my Dadi," Arnav said.

"Assalamualaikum," Khushi said in a low voice.

"Walaikumusalam. So you are Khushi?"

Khushi nodded.

"And you are bearing Arnav's child?"

Khushi lowered her head and nodded.

Dadi came down the steps and went in front of Khushi. "It is custom in our family that when the heir of the Raizada family is being expected, that she must stay in the Raizada house, which is why you'll be staying here."

Khushi nodded, now understanding why Arnav was so determined in getting her to move in with him.

"Dadi, I'll take Khushi upstairs," Arnav said.

Dadi nodded and Arnav led Khushi upstairs, holding her hand for safety reasons. He walked down a hall and opened a door.

"This will be your room," Arnav said.

Khushi looked at the room. It was big, having the necessities.

She looked at Arnav. "So I'll be staying here?"

Arnav nodded. "Yeah. You'll be staying here. And if you need anything, my room is down the hall, same side as you."

"Okay."

Arnav nodded. "I'll leave you to your stuff."

Khushi nodded and Arnav left. Khushi shut the door and went to the bed and sat on it.

What big turn has my life made, she asked in her head.

Khushi began to unpack and when she finished, she checked the time on her phone and saw it was time for namaz. Khushi went to the bathroom, which was attached to her room, and performed wudu. She came out and took out her janamaz from her bag and did seven rakats of Magrib.

Khuda, please help me, Khushi asked in her prayers. I know I have commited a sin and I truly feel guilty for that. Please, if possible, forgive me for what I've done, she cried. Please forgive me. Please.

Wiping away her tears, Khushi placed her janamaz away. She suddenly felt hungry and wanted to eat. But she didn't know where the kitchen was, so she decided to go to Arnav.

Khushi went over to Arnav's room and found it slightly open. She knocked on the door, but there was no response. She knocked once more, but there was no reply again.

Should I peek in, Khushi wondered.

Her stomach grumbled, so she decided to peek in. Holding onto the doorknob, Khushi peered in and scanned the room. At first she didn't see him, but then she found him and she was shocked.
